Arthur Cox wins award for advancement of women in law

Arthur Cox has won the Best Firm in Ireland award for the second consecutive year at the Europe Women in Business Law Awards 2014, which took place in London recently.

The awards, given by Euromoney Legal Media Group, which comprises a wide range of international legal publications, recognise firms for their efforts in ensuring that women advance in the legal profession.

Commenting on the award the Managing Partner of Arthur Cox, Brian O’Gorman, said: “We are very pleased to win this award. Our firm’s policies and work practices have been shaped around promoting a culture of equal opportunities, diversity and inclusivity.  Key to this is our ability to support the development of women in the legal profession and provide work-life programmes to enable women to pursue legal careers.”

Arthur Cox was also shortlisted in the categories of best gender diversity initiative, best national firm mentoring programme, best national firm for work-life balance, best national firm for pro bono work and best national firm for women in business in law. Individual women partners in the firm were nominated for best in capital markets, corporate governance, financial regulation, litigation and product liability.
