The Student Housing Company Acquires Dublin site for Student Accommodation

Published On: January 28, 2015Views: 8

The Student Housing Company has acquired a 0.57 hectare (1.41 acres) site off Dorset Street, Dublin, with a view to building the city’s latest student housing development.

The land, purchased through Douglas Newman Good, is situated just minutes’ walk from DIT’s Grangegorman Campus making it a prime location for student accommodation.

The acquisition represents The Student Housing Company’s second piece of land in Dublin, and if planning permission is granted the development would continue the company’s rapid expansion following new student housing sites opened in Bristol, Edinburgh, Liverpool and St. Andrews.

Bob Crompton, Chairman of The Student Housing Company, said “We are fully invested in developing more in Dublin. We pride ourselves on providing student accommodation in desirable areas so the Dorset Street site is ideal for us.

“Since June 2011, when Oaktree Capital Management backed the Knightsbridge Student Housing Company to launch The Student Housing Company, we have sought to raise people’s expectations about service in student accommodation and we intend on continuing this mantra with our second development in Dublin. This acquisition, along with our plans to open another five sites in 2015, makes for an extremely exciting year ahead for The Student Housing Company.”
