The newly published Business Plan from Irish Water, which sets out an ambitious €5.5 billion capital investment plan in water and waste water infrastructure, has be welcomed by the Construction Industry Federation.

CIF Director General, Tom Parlon, noted that the new plan was “designed to address decades of underinvestment”.

“This type of capital investment plan is crucial for Ireland to continue to develop quality housing, office, retail, commercial, industrial, educational, and medical facilities, while creating employment and activity in the construction sector” he stated

“Many of the projects that are contained in the Business Plan for Irish Water are long overdue and need to progress to construction in a timely manner.  We look forward to receiving the detail underpinning this announcement so that the Industry is in a position to effectively and efficiently deliver the infrastructure urgently required.”
