Bernard McNamara discharged from bankruptcy
Mr. McNamara was scheduled to be clear from bankruptcy in November last year but that process was delayed after a challenge in the UK courts.
The Shelbourne, the Burlington and the Parknasilla Hotel in Kerry were among McNamara’s jewels at the height of his property empire.

No doubt the most infamous property deal will be remembered as the former Irish Glass Bottle site in Dublin, which a consortium he was involved in paid €412m for in 2006. Current value put the site at a value in the region of aprox. €40m.
In early 2011 McNamara moved to London in an effort to get a fast track bankruptcy.
